We didn’t start The Wave because the world needed another networking group.
We started it because what was out there wasn’t good enough for where we were at.
We were both growing our businesses, thinking bigger — but the rooms available either felt too surface-level, too performative, or full of people playing smaller than we wanted to. And that creates a strange kind of loneliness. You’re doing well, but you haven’t got the right people around you to actually think with.
So we built the room we wanted to walk into.
A room where you don’t have to filter yourself. Where conversations go beyond “how’s business?” Where ambition feels normal, not something to downplay.
We’re both mums. Travelling doesn’t always work. We wanted something real, and we wanted it on our doorstep.
What started as headshots and a networking event grew into something neither of us expected — a genuine community. Not a networking group in the traditional sense, but something closer to a business village. The kind of place where you know people are in your corner, not just in the same room.
We naturally bring people together — that was already happening informally long before The Wave had a name. This just gave it a shape.
